What captain service is

A pro at the helm, all day.

A captained session means you never touch the wheel unless you want to. Our licensed captains know Candlewood Lake cold, the no-wake zones, the shallow shoulders near the causeway, the coves that go glassy at dawn, and the sunset lanes worth timing your day around. That local knowledge is what turns a boat ride into a genuinely great day. Whether you're pulling wakeboarders, planning a birthday on the water, or just want to cruise with a cooler and good company, the captain keeps it smooth and safe while your group relaxes.

What's included

Everything the captain handles.

1

Licensed at the helm

A qualified captain runs the boat start to finish, launch, navigation, docking, and reading the lake so you don't have to.

2

Local route knowledge

We know Candlewood's calm coves, its no-wake zones, and the golden-hour spots most visitors never find.

3

Safety, built in

Proper vests for every guest, a spotter for tow sports, and a captain who calls it early if conditions turn.

4

Zero prep for you

No trailer, no ramp, no fuel run, no cleanup. Show up with sunscreen and a towel and let the day happen.

How pricing works

Transparent, quoted before you book.

No hidden fees, no surprises at the dock.

Single Block

A few hours on the water, perfect for a lesson block, a tubing run, or a relaxed cruise.

$250 for 1 hour (your vessel), half-day rate

Extended Block

Make a day of it, mix watersports, a swim stop, and a sunset run all under one booking.

$375 for 90 minutes (your vessel), full-day rate

Double Block

Extra hours, gear, or a specific experience layered onto your session.

$500 for 2 hours (your vessel), add-on rates

These were the final published Captain Service rates, taught on your own boat by Connor Kostyra and the Lakeside crew. The service is not running for 2026, but the lake knowledge lives on in our Lake Guide.

Good to know

Captain service questions, answered.

Did guests need a boating license for Captain Service?

No. When you hire our captain service, a licensed captain runs the boat for you. You just show up, relax, and enjoy the water while we handle navigation, launching, docking, and safety.

How does captain service pricing work?

Pricing is built around the length of your session and the experience you choose. We keep it transparent and quote you before you commit, no hidden fees. Reach out with your date and group size and we'll send exact numbers.

Is gratuity included for the captain?

Gratuity is never required and never assumed. If your captain made your day on Candlewood Lake, tipping is always appreciated, but it's entirely up to you.
