Tubing is NOT influenced by the weather as much as the other watersports. You can always go tubing unless conditions are dangerous. Before you set out, it's important to check for high winds or incoming storms which can impact water conditions. Tubing in rough water conditions or not so great weather is usually the most fun! It’s also great because it’s a fun watersports that can be done regardless of the weather. If it’s flat you can have a nice relaxing tube ride, and If it’s choppy on the water you can get thrown off the tube tyring to stay on which is the fun of tubing! You can get the adrenalin rush of action sports fun. At Lakeside Watersports, we keep a close eye on forecasts to ensure your safety and fun are never compromised.
2. Experience of the Boat Driver or Spotter
The skill of the boat driver and spotter on the boat is key to a successful tubing experience. As a guest, You need to know the specific hand signals Faster (Thumbs up), Slower (Thumbs Down), Stop (Pat your head), Waves (Arms up and down). Our boat drivers and spotters at Lakeside Watersports will always teach you these hand signals before going onto the tube and there’s full understanding on how to be safe. Safety is our top priority. We provide well-maintained coast guard approved life jackets by O’Brien Watersports for every guest which could be found here. We also provide new top of the line O’Brien Watersports Tube Rope. We always use the same completely safe and user tested O’Brien Ultra Screamer 3 Person Towable Tube, we don’t use helmets because the only thing your head can hit is another person on the tube. We always ensure your tubing experience is secure. We make sure that our equipment is suitable for all ages and sizes.

You can change this length but there generally is never a reason too. The length of 50-65 feet behind our Mastercraft 24 NXT allows for optimal wake interaction and a thrilling ride, while still maintaining a safe environment.
What is it Called When a Boat Pulls You on a Tube?
This exhilarating activity is commonly referred to as “tubing.” Specifically, you can call it “boat tubing” because just “tubing” could mean you’re floating a river or going to a waterpark. All very fun, but not as great as boat tubing! At Lakeside Watersports, we’ve taken tubing to the next level with our specialized MasterCraft boats, ensuring a unique and unforgettable experience on Candlewood Lake. Listening to music through our tower speakers on our boats while you’re tubing is an unreal luxury experience of fun you can’t do anywhere else.
What Speed Do You Pull a Tube?
Speed is vital for both fun and safety. Generally, we maintain a speed of 15-20 mph, which is considered ideal for most tubers. However, this can vary based on the tuber’s age, skill level, and comfort. Starting people we usually go really slow and keep that speed with our GPS cruise control on all of our boats. When the people on the tube are comfortable and use the above signs we go into manual driving mode where we control the speed. Our boat drivers are completely trained in our levels of tubing.
What is the Best Length Rope for Tubing?
The ideal rope length for tubing is typically around 50-60 feet. As discussed in the above section, This length allows for enough slack for safe maneuvering and optimal enjoyment.
