The best days on the water are the ones where nobody has to worry. That's the whole point of how we run Lakeside Watersports. Because we're on Candlewood Lake every day, we know its no-wake zones, its shallow shoulders, its busy weekend patterns, and how fast a summer squall can roll over the hills. That familiarity, paired with proper gear and a simple set of rules we never bend, is what lets first-timers, kids, and nervous parents relax and actually enjoy themselves. Safety questions, answered.
Do I have to wear a life vest?
Yes. Everyone taking part in tow sports wears a properly-fitted U.S. Coast Guard-approved life vest, and we have sizes for every guest, from kids to adults. It's the simplest, most important thing we do on every session.
Is someone watching the rider at all times?
Always. Every tow session has a dedicated spotter whose only job is to keep eyes on the rider and relay signals to the captain. The captain focuses on driving; the spotter focuses on you.
What happens if conditions turn dangerous?
Safety comes before everything. If wind, storms, or lightning move in, we come off the water and reschedule your session at no hassle. We'd always rather call it early than push a bad situation. See our weather policy for details.
Do kids and non-swimmers need to worry?
We welcome all ages and comfort levels. Everyone wears a vest, we go at a pace that suits the group, and our crew keeps a close, calm eye on younger and less-confident guests the whole time.
